Board Members
The Board of Directors consists of 5 elected Executive Member positions and 5 appointed Committee Chair positions, which manage several essential functions of the organization. Executive Members are elected by membership and serve 2 years with the exception of the President.
The President services 1 year as the President-Elect and 1 year as the President. Elections are held annually in October. Executive Members may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms in a single position. Committee Chairs are ex-officio members of the Board and are appointed by the President and President Elect for a term of 2 years.
Committee Chairs are responsible for functions ranging from annual review of bylaws, disbursement of association scholarship money, to the strategic planning of WAMSS. Committee Chairs may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms. While not voting members of the Board, Committee Chairs serve a critical and essential role when determining the current and future path of WAMSS.
